Five filters before comparing rates
A useful comparison starts with the same inputs. These filters help make two rate pages easier to read side by side.
1. Minimum balance: check whether the rate applies to every dollar or only a tier. 2. Fees: identify charges that can offset earnings. 3. Duration: determine whether the rate is variable or promotional. 4. Access: review withdrawal rules and timing. 5. Institution: verify who actually provides or holds the product.
